Terraforming Mars: Colonies, an extension of the basic game

After Venus Next, Hellas – Elysium and Prelude, Terraforming Mars returns with a new extension, Colonies. In this extension of the basic game, you play as a corporation wishing to exploit new spaces in order to establish your own colonies. But that’s not all. To earn maximum victory points, you will also need to trade with future colonies and collect resources. Colonies can be played with the base box but also combined with all other existing extensions.

Terraforming Mars: Colonies, a commercial dimension

The Colonies expansion contains 5 new corporate cards and 49 new project cards, which can be added to those of the other boxes in the game.

In one round, players must place 5 to 7 colony tiles, among the eleven proposed in the expansion. During the game, in addition to the possible basic actions, players can spend their wealth to build their own colony and receive a related bonus. Each player also has the opportunity to spend his resources to deploy a commercial fleet to a colony and reap the commercial revenues associated with it. These new maps make the game even more strategic and bring a commercial logic into this game that was already not devoid of depth.
